Soldier unique code and password

A unique code identifies the personnel file. A password proves the soldier session. Both are required to open rank, unit, MOS, next of kin, and paid services in the workspace. Family guests never use the password.

What the unique code is for

Every leave, retirement, redeployment, care pack, and call card is tied to a unique code. Looking it up loads the name, rank, unit, and base on the record so the desk is not guessing.

The code alone does not open the personnel file. That requires the portal password on Soldier access.

Treat the unique code like a case number. Treat the password like a bank PIN.

Shared computers

  • Sign out of the soldier session when you leave a family PC or library machine.
  • Family should use Continue as guest instead of staying inside the soldier workspace.
  • Do not store the password in a shared notes app titled “Army login.”

Need the live form? Current fees, durations, and catalog items are on Services. Amounts on the form are the amounts that apply.

If access fails

Use Contact. Describe whether the unique code is rejected, the password is rejected, or the personnel file looks wrong. Do not paste the password into the ticket.

Questions on this topic

What is Military Unit Portal and what can I do here?

Military Unit Portal is a personnel support desk for U.S. service members and authorized family. From one account session you can file paid military leave (fifteen categories), retirement, redeployment, and service-dog adoption; order care packs and call cards; attach a soldier unique code so the request is tied to the correct record; and track status with the reference emailed after you submit. Administrators review identity, payment proof, and the packet before a status change is mailed. About the portal

Who is allowed to use the portal?

Service members who have been issued a soldier unique code and portal password can sign in to the personnel workspace. A spouse, parent, child, sibling, or other authorized family member may continue as a guest or create a family account. Every filing still requires a valid unique code so the packet is attached to the right soldier. Do not file in someone else’s name without authority to act for that member.

What is the difference between the public site and the soldier workspace?

The public site uses the same top navigation as the homepage: services, track, how it works, help, and contact. After a soldier signs in with unique code and password, the layout switches to a personnel sidebar with the bio, awards, current and last team, leave history, My requests, and paid services. Guest family stays on the public menu. Signing in as a soldier never logs a guest out of a different browser, and a guest session never replaces soldier sign-in on a shared computer. How it works

Do I need a family account, or can I stay a guest?

A family account is optional. Guests enter name, email, and phone once, then put the soldier unique code on each form. Status still goes only to the email on that request. Create a family login if you want a saved profile across visits. Soldiers should still use Soldier access, not the family register form, because the personnel file is bound to the unique code. Continue as guest

What should I have ready before I start a filing?

Have a recent face photo, tax identification for the person filing, a reachable email you will check, and the payment method you will use. A government photo ID (passport, military ID/CAC, driver license, or national ID) is required on retirement, redeployment, adoption, shop, and flights. On a leave filing, if the filer has no government photo ID they may declare that and still reserve the packet. Leave, retirement, and redeployment also need the soldier unique code. Service-dog adoption does not. Leave packets also need travel dates, duration, and destination. Retirement needs service and forwarding-address details. Redeployment needs assignment and dependent information if family will relocate. Service-dog adoption needs a cleared dog (age 2+ and fit), a 1,000–30,000 character personality, and a placement address.
